Message from Dragon Watch Mayor NANOC
Welcome to Dragons Watch
Dragons Watch, Felucca is located on the Chesapeake shard, North of Minoc on a peninsula. (138 26N 129 26E)
The Army of the Dragon guild (ATD) where the origional founders of the town which started on the Island town of Occlo. (circa 1998)
John McBain the founder of ATD along with Cloud Barret and KingID moved to the present location after houses by members of the guild where placed there when Occlo became too crowded.
You could always find the members of ATD and others sitting at the Occlo Bank.
Dragons Watch became a part of PaxLair on Aug. 19, 2004.
The Citizens of Historic Dragons Watch guild (DWxC) was founded by John McBain and Benris as the government for the city. (circa 2006)
NANOC became an Alderman of DWxC in June of 2006 and was promoted to Viceroy by Mayor Winfield after Benris left the realm.
Today the town is thriving with a new GM for ATD, Crypt Keeper.
Houses being built by guild members and changes in housing already placed.

Message from the ATD Guild Master
Welcome to the ATD and Dragons Watch website. I hope that as ATD steps into this new era we can provide the players of Ultima Online many great adventures and memories to last another 10 years.
My goal as new guild master of ATD is to uphold the guilds honor and tradition while at the same time offer the knowledge and experience I have gained in my eight years of UO as a player and a guild master so that we as a guild can grow for the future and provide a new generation of ATDmembers goals and a reason to belong. After all, that’s what a guild is all about, belonging to a family and that’s what ATD is.
We do not mass recruit and we do not just let anyone into our guild, ATD is a highly trained elite group of people set up to defend not only town of Dragons Watch and the Paxlair Statehood but all those who are worthy of our cause. If you are selected to be a part of ATD know that you are becoming a part of Chesapeake history and you are becoming someone much, much, more than just a player in a game.
So, I challenge you. Do you have what it takes to become one with the Dragon, if so then pick up your sword and gather your reg’s. You have been called upon and you do not stand alone.  In Remembrance: Gary Gygax (1938 – 2008)

As many of our loyal fans may know, Gary Gygax, co-creator of D&D and inspiration to generations of gamers, has recently passed away.
Tracing the line from pen and paper roleplaying to Ultima Online reminds us of own legends and creators. Yet their inspiration had a source: where would we be without the enthusiasm and love that a small group of adventurers showed with but a handful of dice and some pads of paper, so long ago?
And while we cannot easily express our feelings (although this feels about right), we wish to pay our own sort of tribute.
Therefore, let it be known that within the darkest depths of the dungeon Doom a new power has awakened! For the Dungeon Master has established a place for his games – games of life and death, waiting for the unwary and daring alike to tread into his sanctuary.

| General Silverfoot Crowned Champion!! |

 Se'an Silverfoot Wins USA Alliance Archery League!
It was a fine evening of archery inside the city of Serpents Hold as competitors and onlookers alike gathered atop the Warriors guild to decide the championship winner in this months archery league. Hosted by the city of Guardians Gate and scored by Daria Blackmoore(RBG) the matches went off without a hitch as the USA Alliance prepared to award 600k in prize monies to prospective winners.
Only needing a solid finish to secure the victory in March's USA Alliance Archery League Se'an Silverfoot went above and beyond Monday almost winning round four. In a close matchup in the finals it was Se'an Silvefoot versus Brutus Tankard going the distance as both arrived undefeated giving us a "best two out of three" final match. With each archer taking a round apiece, it came down to the last shot to decide the nights champion. Victory secured Se'an pulled out all the stops almost besting Brutus. In the end it was Brutus Tankard taking the weeks winnings of 100k and Se'an outlasting the competition to become March's Champion and take home the 500k purse along with the bragging rights of being the best shot in the realm!

While making the rounds of the city ATD Dragon General Se'an Silverfoot found threatening messages concernig the safety of PaxOku Viceroy Lady Hester . The first note was found among notes left at Lady Cora's home in Dragons Watch

I'll have to admit that I've not recently attended an archery event ongoing for several weeks of activity as this one is. This weekly event hosted by United Sosarian Alliance Archery League is certainly worth participation or simply going out to watch. There is some very fine archery to be seen or to compete against, if you think you are good enough. *wink*
Please consult the event calendar for updates to these events, but the understanding is that they shall be held each Monday through the month of March.

An update by Leurocian was posted on Stratics regarding Pet Summon balls
Hail and Well Met,
We want to thank everyone for giving us your input on the Crystal Ball of Pet Summoning and its current use in PvP. After assessing your feedback, we have decided that the following adjustments are needed:
* Pet summoning balls should unhide the summoner when attempting to summon her pet.
* Pet summoning balls should have a couple second casting animation with the chance to disrupt like other spellcasting.
* Pet summoning balls should have a reuse delay of 15 seconds.
* Pet summoning balls cannot be used while in animal form.
We feel these changes should balance the Crystal Ball of Pet Summoning in PvP while having minimal impact in PvM. QA is currently reviewing these changes internally. Once the changes pass internal review, they should appear on a public Test Center for an upcoming publish.
Once these changes are on Test Center, please be sure to send us your feedback on these changes.

"Why do I seem to miss so often when using Archery?"
I've seen several variations on this question, so Leurocian scoured the accuracy code for me, and we did not find anything that would specifically affect Archery accuracy (with one exception, covered below.) Accuracy in general is a fairly complex topic with many variables, so it's a tricky thing to test at the best of times. Here's an explanation of the different factors - if anyone sees any results that aren't consistent with this, please let us know!
Attacker's stats: Weapon skill and Hit Chance Increase are the stats the formula uses on the attacker's side. HCI is increased by HCI items and decreased by the defender's Hit Lower Attack, if any.
Defender's stats: Weapon skill and Defense Chance Increase are the stats the formula uses on the defender's side. DCI is increased by DCI items and decreased by the attacker's Hit Lower Defense, if any. (Exception below.)
Barehanded defense: If the defender is not using a weapon, "weapon skill" will be EITHER Wrestling skill OR (Anatomy + Evaluating Intelligence + 20) / 2; whichever is greater (which means that if you have none of these skills and are barehanded, you'll have a functional weapon skill of 10.)
Mage Weapons and Use Best Weapon Skill: UBWS uses whichever weapon skill is highest, and Mage Weapons use Magery (with whatever penalties listed on the weapon) assuming it's higher than the appropriate weapon skill for that weapon.
The minimum chance to hit is always at least 2%. If both attacker and defender have the same weapon skill and HCI/DCI, the chance to hit is 50%.

HarborMaster Kharlin of ATD authorized the testing of the Lighthouse late last evening. As the fires were lit the glow could be seen far out to sea. The lighthouse provides an increased operations feature for Dragons Watch's port. A bustling fleet of trade and warships anchor in the port of the now bustling city

The following note was shown to me by Se'an Silverfoot of the Army of the Dragon [ATD], who found it lying on the steps outside his house in PaxOku.

If this note is genuine, it appears to be written by Lady Hester Tarian, Guildmistress of The Crest of Courageous Hearts [*CH*]. It is known that she had been attacked by an ethereal intruder and strangely poisoned. She was resting and recovering at her home near Yew. People I have talked to report not having seen her in several weeks, so it is possible that she has been missing for some time.
It is unknown to whom the note was addressed to or for whom it was meant to be delivered, or how it managed to be delivered in the first place. Se'an told me he has met Lady Hester, but does not know her well, so he thinks it unlikely that the letter was intended to be delivered to him. *CH* is a PaxOku guild, though, so perhaps it was meant to be delivered to someone else in the city. That may be the best place for those interested in helping her to look.
More details will be posted as they become known.
